Please stop for a moment and think about organizations or groups that might benefit from money and/or guidance from SLGC that will assist them in “matters related to environmental protection, conservation, horticulture, gardening and related subjects.”
Read MoreEach year, members of the Shaker Lakes Garden Club are requested to make a contribution, above and beyond dues, to fund charitable projects that fit within the club’s mission. Proposals submitted for these projects are carefully vetted by the Charitable Projects Committee and the very best are voted upon by the membership. Over the years, our club has nurtured small projects and strengthened larger ones.

The Charitable Projects Committee of The Shaker Lakes Garden Club is pleased to offer the top two choices of projects received in this 2017-2018 fiscal year. One of these proposals will receive the largest grant.

The deadline for Charitable Project proposals is February 9 and our meeting to review the proposals is March 6. We would love to have all donations by that date in order to know the full amount available for this year’s Charitable Project gifts.

A special thank you to Shaker Lakes Garden Club members and non members who made contributions to the 2015-2016 Charitable Projects Fund. The total amount contributed was $15,200, representing 117 gifts.

Read MoreThe Charitable Projects Committee met on March 3 and chose two proposals worthy of a $5,000 award, the largest that the club gives annually. Club members will vote for the project they prefer at the April membership meeting, or a written vote may be submitted before April 23 if they are unable to attend the meeting.
