Garden History & Design
Our Garden History & Design Committee exists for two primary purposes. First, it teaches the history and styles of good garden design practice through programs, workshops, and publications. Second, it uses photography and research to document area gardens for inclusion within the Smithsonian’s Archive of American Gardens – the most important source for garden history and design study in the nation. GCA also provides scholarships nationally and internationally in GHD. When SLGC documents new gardens, their profiles will be featured here.
