Cathy Miller has been made a Botanical Arts Judge!
Botanical Jewelry, as it was called in the beginning, became popular in the East in the late 1900’s. Our own Dotty Elliott first saw it at The Philadelphia Flower Show and was so taken with it that when she got home, she invited a woman from the Wissahicken GC to speak at our joint meeting with GCC. Cathy, already a jeweler and metalsmith, was immediately smitten with the art form.
On an unusually balmy February Tuesday, Debbie Oliver, from Cincinnati's Town and Country Garden Club, visited us. She filled our heads with sunny floral designs. She piqued our interest with clever decor mechanics, and taught us how to make a stunning contemporary design.
A 7-session course in Botanical Painting is being offered at CBG, in the gardens, on Tuesdays, April 12, 19, 26 and,May 3, 10, 17 & 24 from 1:30 - 4 p.m.
