CLASS: The Epitome of Spring: Photography Workshop
at David G Leach Research Station
Saturday, May 28th, 7am - noon
Instructor: Debbie Dicarlo, Photographer
$75 per member, $115 per nonmember
Celebrate and photograph a flourish of spring color when the immense collection of rhododendrons are in bloom at the David G Leach Research Station in May. Our cameras will feast on the elegance and beauty of one of the most beloved flowering shrubs.
The morning will start off with a quick overview of the settings and techniques used for both general flower photography and artistic photography. White balance, shooting angles, light, depth of field and camera movement will be discussed. Then with the guidance of the instructor, we will explore the grounds in morning light to find a variety of rhododendrons and other seasonal blooms like dogwood and azaleas.
A camera with interchangeable lenses is the preferred equipment for this workshop. Use of macro and wide-angle lenses will be highlighted although similar images can also be created with other lenses. It is important that participants have a basic knowledge of digital photography and be familiar with the controls and operation of their camera.
