Western Reserve Land Conservancy
3850 Chagrin River Rd., Moreland Hills
The Shaker Lakes Garden Club welcomes a very special guest for our November 15th membership meeting: Ann Talarek, lead Horticulturist at the Fallingwater Frank Lloyd Wright home in Millcreek, Pennsylvania, from 2007-2022. Frank Lloyd Wright designed this home over a waterfall in Bear Creek in the 1930's for the Kaufman family (a Pittsburgh family who made their fortune in retail) to the tune of $3 million dollars. In the 1960's, the family turned the house over to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, which Ann now leads. Ann will share with us the challenges of designing and maintaining gardens around this unusual home with its unique topography and wooded watery growing conditions. This will be a very special talk that you won't want to miss!
Parking: There is a front and rear lot at the Land Conservancy with plenty of parking. If you park in the rear lot there is an entrance at the back of the building.
Special Notes: The Western Reserve Land Conservancy will give us a short introduction about their important work before Ann takes the podium. The staff at WRLC will be standing by after our program concludes if any of our club members would like an inside and/or outside tour of the facility and its beautiful grounds.
