Amy Paine
The SLGC Board is pleased to announce that the following women have accepted the Club's invitation to become new provisional members beginning in the 2021-2022 season. An impressive group of women!
Elane Better
Elane has enjoyed gardening as a hobby for many years. She has enjoyed traveling the world and has a unique perspective of other cultures and gardens. She lived in France and Japan and takes influence from their extraordinary gardens. Elane and her husband Bill and their two children live in a historic home in Shaker Heights. Their beautiful garden was included in the Shaker Heights Historical Society Garden Tour in 2018. Elane serves on the Board of Trustees for the Shaker Charitable Trust and is active in the Cleveland Skating Club.
Stacy Goldberg
An avid reader who also loves writing, Stacy earned a BA in English and Spanish literature from UNC-Chapel Hill and an MBA from Emory University. Since 2012, Stacy’s work has focused on helping people write their memoirs and tell their life stories. Additionally, Stacy is involved in several organizations in Cleveland, including Laurel School, the Cleveland Skating Club, US Together and is a board member of Park Synagogue. Stacy credits her love of gardening with her grandmother, whose southern Georgia home had a spectacular garden filled with camillias, vegetables, and hydrangeas. Stacy’s historic property has a koi pond and climbing hydrangeas that are nearly 100 years old. She and her husband Michael are the parents of three children and live in Cleveland Heights.
Sheri Morford
Sheri is a very active person. She loves to work in her yard, exercise and travel. She has a talent for design and home improvement. Sheri and her husband have completely renovated their Shaker Heights home. Sheri is an active member of St. Dominic Church, and her past community involvement includes multiple treasurer positions and school volunteer commitments. She works full-time for an accounting firm that serves non-profit clients. Sheri and her husband Joe have four children.
Cindy Elliott
Cindy is new to Northeast Ohio but has deep roots here due to her marriage to Andy Elliott, son of SLGC former President, Dotty Elliott. She has worked for over forty years in the corporate world, raised two children and still managed to design and cultivate three gardens. Cindy has been and is deeply engaged with her natural world and has created special spaces in each of her three home environments. Her passion grew with her from an early age when she helped her family with their small orchard, vegetable gardens and perennial and annual beds.
Meg Hunter
Meg and her family recently relocated to Shaker Heights after living in Buffalo for a few years. A true rocket scientist, Meg has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. She has worked in a variety of corporate roles and in her spare time has embraced a love for robotics, space and go-kart racing. She is an avid reader, investor and gardener. She currently serves as a Board Member at the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes and volunteers at Meals on Wheels. She and her husband Jed live in Shaker Heights and have three children.
