My (New) Favorite Thing

I had the pleasure of attending the Zone X Meeting in early June and discovered my new favorite thing….the city of Cincinnati! The Town & Country Garden Club treated us to two days of tours, and dinner in members' homes. We visited Greenacres Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to generative farming, conservation, art, music and education. Wow! Next was a stop at Turner Farm, an organic farm with a stunning new demonstration kitchen, dedicated to healthy bodies and healthy ecosystems, and a drive though the beautiful Eden Park. The second day was spent in town, touring the recently revitalized “Over the Rhine” district and Findlay Market, and a walk through Smale Riverfront Park. The Park lies between the Ohio River and downtown, and the views of both are lovely. The success of public private partnerships in revitalizing the city is most impressive, and a visit to the Queen City would make an excellent weekend escape!
