Don’t Forget the Orchid Show at CBG!

The orchid show runs through March 13. Advanced reservations are recommended, as the number of participants is limited. Handout from the Membership Meeting on January 25

From Amy Miller: Our speakers from Tuesday, Gabby and Polly, have asked me to distribute this resource handout to the club. This makes a fantastic resource guide for our cutting gardens. Click here for the handout.

Tuesday’s speakers also sent a link to a site that they forgot to include in the handout we received at the meeting: https://www.berbeeus.com/. I recommending subscribing to their newsletter/email chain because they constantly give you updates of what is available for ordering. All the German irises are sold out already but will most likely be available in the summer.

Make a Bee Hotel in Your Yard

From Suzy: Here is a project that looks fun AND would be helpful to encourage the bees in your yard. It's one little kids (and bigger) can do and give to their grandparents or other relatives. I am going to use the stems I cut back next year, putting them to better use than just trashing them. How easy and sensible is THAT?! https://youtu.be/NaNxUd9Nb48

Reminder!

Don’t forget to designate Shaker Lakes Garden Club as a recipient of donations from Amazon Smile for every purchase you make. It only takes a moment to do so. Call Treasurer Suzy Hartford at 216/835-0363 if you want/need help doing so.
