A Floral Design Demo! Learn the Art of Pot-et-Fleur!

Here is an example of a pot-et-fleur design made by Margaret Ransohoff and exhibited in the entry hall to the Cleveland Museum of Art.
In this year’s upcoming flower show, A Fantasy, there are six floral design classes. Please review the schedule for specifics on those classes. It is time to sign up now for any class you would like to enter! Members of other clubs are allowed to enter after March 1st!
Prior to the show, our club’s Floral Design Committee will sponsor demonstrations and/or workshops that review the methods of creating certain specific arrangement types (pot-et-fleur and functional tabletop designs) and the principles and elements of design for all floral design entries. We hope this will spark interest among club members in programs and workshops in the future!
To sign up for the first session, please email Susannah Doman. Margaret and Robin Schachat will review the principles behind pot-et-fleur classes entered in the floral design divisions in GCA flower shows (there are also pot-et-fleur classes in horticulture divisions, and the expectations are different). They will also demonstrate the construction of this type of arrangement, which allows the creator to continue to use the same basic container of multiple potted plants over many months, changing and refreshing the effect over time with the insertion of varying cut flowers.
