Although our club may officially be on summer break, in reality, there is so much going on in July and August that will keep us all busy in our gardens and in our communities! Here are the important dates to put on your calendars now:
July 16 Pop-up garden tours of 4 beautiful yards that demonstrate how you can be a better steward of our planet. This is part of the collaborative initiative between our club and the Cleveland Audubon Society. Sign up here: natureinmybackyard@clevelandaudubon.org.
July 22 and Aug 12, 10am-12pm Come plant herbs and water seedling trees at the Rid-All Green Partnership farm! This is part of our project to help an underserved community. Sept 8-10 is our flower show A Fantasy. I’m sure many of us are busy growing award winning flowers, creating awesome botanical arts and dreaming about making amazing floral arrangements!! Stay tuned for eblasts about additional workshops in August.
Have you seen the summer GCA Bulletin yet? SLGC’s volunteer workshop at Big-Hearted Blooms last February is featured in the Newsworthy section- check it out. Also, take note of the beautiful moth photos from Jim McCormac’s workshop, Gardening for Moths, presented at the annual meeting in Columbus. He will be our featured speaker at our January member’s meeting. The moth photos he will be sharing are unbelievable!
Looking forward to seeing everyone this summer!
