Welcome, New Members 2022-2023!

Carmen Fonseca:

Carmen has had a lifelong passion for gardening and nature. When she and her husband, Dr. Raymond Rackley, first moved to their Shaker Heights home, they restored and improved their home’s historic garden. Their restoration efforts led to the inclusion of their home’s garden on the Shaker Heights Historical Society’s 2005 Garden Tour. Carmen and Raymond created the Malvern Garden Club which has maintained the Malvern School and Hanna Perkins Center gardens and orchestrated many community service projects and activities. Carmen is a patron of the Cleveland Orchestra and spearheaded the refurbishing and installation of the Euclid Beach Carousel at the Historical Society. Carmen is a former vascular surgeon, current healthcare consultant and she and Raymond have two children, Christina and Ryan.

Catherine Hunnicutt:

Catherine, her husband Brian, and daughter Charlotte live in an historic home in Cleveland Heights where they relocated from New York City. While in New York, Catherine enjoyed a long and successful career in marketing for Disney Direct and the A&E Channel. When she moved to Northeast Ohio, she quickly embraced life in Cleveland, volunteering for a number of organizations. Gardening has always been a constant in Catherine’s life, and she has enjoyed designing and redesigning her own gardens over the years. Catherine is a lifelong equestrian, dog lover, community volunteer and highly creative painter and needlepointer.

Gail Stein:

Gail is the former Director of the Lower School at University School. She has an infectious passion for learning that inspired and encouraged her teachers at US. She is interested in conservation issues, and she encouraged this theme at University School to help capture the imagination and love of learning for her students. She has served on many boards, including the Junior Women’s Committee for the Cleveland Orchestra, the Junior Committee for the Cleveland Playhouse, and the Rainbow Babies and Children’s Foundation. In her spare time Gail enjoys photography, flower arranging, reading, and walking the beach in Hilton Head with her husband David, her three children, and many grandchildren.
