Socializing During the Pandemic
Leigh Fabens
SLGC members are missing occasions - the Provisional Tea, the Annual Meeting luncheon - for getting together this summer, and we’re experimenting with small “patio parties.”
I had mine in the morning of August 4, and because it was pouring rain we sat far apart from each other in my living room, with the dogs underfoot, scrounging for crumbs. There were five of us, so social distancing was not a problem. We had a wonderful time catching up with family news, gardening tips, stories about coping with Covid. The small group was ideal for conversation, and it was lively. Here we are, left to right: Kathy Malone, Nancy Zambie, Betsy Stueber and Martha Marsh. Thanks again to Judy Stuelpe and Sarah Morgan for putting our guest lists together, and creating a good mix of women who had perhaps known each other for a long time but had lost touch. We can do this again!
Margaret Ransohoff picked a gorgeous fall-like day to have her pop-up patio party, with Sally Roman, Catherine Levy, Robin Schachat, Dozie Herbruck, and Anne Higerd in attendance. The conversation was lively, the food delicious, and the setting not to be missed.
