University Hospital's Garden Needs Volunteers
Caroline Emmet
For a special garden project for this year, we will be helping University Hospitals create a healing space on the main campus - UH Cleveland Medical Center. This is a site of a devastating helicopter crash in the early 2000s and really could use some new life to honor those who lost their lives. It sits outside a beautiful picture window and could be a lovely spot for patients, their families, and employees to relax and have some beauty in their day. Unfortunately, this area has been neglected.
At April's meeting, the members were generous enough to forgo the prize draw for consulting from our guest speaker, Sabrena Schweyer, and have her contribute her expertise to helping the club with this initiative. We will still be looking for volunteers to bring her advice to life with garden design and planting. So far we have a few volunteers - Sarah Dimling, Catherine Levy, Suzy Hartford and Amy Miller. If you are interested in contributing your time to this project, please reach out to Caroline Emmet at emmetc915@gmail.com.
