A Movie Recommendation

From Beth Boles: I just saw the best movie on Netflix... “A Little Chaos”! It stars Kate Winslet and the late, great Alan Rickman, who also directed it. It is a period piece set during the reign of King Louis XIV, centering around the gardens in Versailles, great fun but totally fictional. It is a must see!

From the Whole Foods Flower Department - “Rose Lilies”

From Leigh: Floral designers with more experience than I have might be familiar with these, but I had never seen them. They are fragrant, and they LAST! I took this photo a whole week after I bought them at the Cedar/Warrensville Whole Foods store and they still look good. They were open when I bought them and the buds are starting to open now but the blooms haven’t faded. More expensive than the single lilies, but not by much - 2 stems instead of three for the price.

A Good Read

From Suzy: The Summit County Master Gardeners produce a newsletter called The Root of it All. You may be interested in some of the articles, written by master gardeners. Click here to read.

Talk on Invasive Plants

From Dozie: On January 19 the Friends of Euclid Creek sponsored a presentation by John Barber, co-founder of Friends of Lower Lake, "Removing Invasive Plants - a Primer for Yards, Parklands, and Watersheds in Northeast Ohio." A recording of the talk can be found here.
