Containers and materials will be provided; you should bring an apron, scissors and clippers. There will be a break for lunch. Cost is $125 per person. REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 25.

To reserve a spot, or ask questions, please email Margaret Krudy or call 216-464-5108.

Save the Date

This program is going to be a slam-bam wonder, presented by the Floral Design Committee of the Womens Council of the Cleveland Museum of Art (WCCMA). Our own Isa Ranganathan and Sally Roman are the chair and vice chair of the Committee, and of course our own Rebecca Carmi is President of the Womens Council overall.

A core of additional SLGC members are serving on the Event Committee (Jennifer Langston, Margaret Ransohoff). Joseph Massie's lecture and demonstration will be open to the public. Massie was featured in the GCA Bulletin earlier this year. He has won a gold medal for his floral designs each of the past 5 years at the Chelsea Flower Show, despite being very young -- only in his 20's -- and he is an engaging and delightful speaker. Tickets available here.

News from Nancy Linz, GCA Zone X Horticulture Representative

Dear Ohio Zone X Horties,

As many of you know, on July 18th, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed House Bill 59 into law, designating the month of April as Ohio Native Plant Month. What you may not know is that the primary force behind this initiative came from GCA members in Zone X! I was recently asked to write an article explaining the involvement by members of the GCA that help create this legislation for Ohio. Click here for a copy of this article. Please feel free to forward this article to members in your club if interested.

Now that April is Ohio Native Plant Month, we need help spreading the word! Each and every April, we hope that every garden club, nature center, arboretum, school, zoo, park, business, garden center, and home owner, plans an activity to celebrate Ohio Native Plant Month! Also attached in a one-page flyer that can be forwarded to anyone you think might be interested in helping next April by planting a native tree, planting a plant or entire garden for our bees, butterflies and other pollinators, or removing invasive plants.
