It is never to early to start thinking about Christmas flowers and decorating! Here is a chance to begin planning and organizing what you want to create and possibly what you will need to order. This is a great opportunity, not only to begin thinking about the holidays, but also to support a local garden club.
View creative and beautiful floral designs to celebrate the upcoming holiday season. A wide variety of floral designs, including tablescapes, petite arrangements, lighted and reflective creations and large scale arrangements will be on display. In addition, horticulture specimens, harvest vegetable displays, house plants, youth exhibits, educational exhibits and a display of botanical photographic prints will be available for perusal on the grounds of Esquire’s Cottage. by Carole Obernesser and Sally Roman
Pizzazz is the annual boutique shopping event presented by the Garden Club of Allegheny, featuring 35 unique vendors from across the country. Proceeds from the sale benefit environmental projects sponsored by the Garden Club in the Pittsburgh community.
Our friends from the Allegheny Garden Club have invited us to attend the preview day October 25 from 9:30 am to 8:00 pm with lunch from 11:30 to 1:30.
We would need to make reservations at $25 each which would include lunch. If you are interested in attending, we can organize car pools. Please email either Carol Obernesser or Sally Roman.
Change Your Habit!
by Robin Schachat and Cynthia Druckenbrod
IT IS TIME TO CHANGE YOUR HABITS!!!!!!!!
In each month’s Newsletter your Conservation Co-Chairs will make a recommendation to CHANGE A BAD HABIT for the GOOD OF THE ENVIRONMENT. It’s one small step to take, but if we all do it the effect will add up.
This month’s idea was recommended by Leslie Marting, and it is SOOOOOOOOOO EASY!
When you come to SLGC Membership and Committee meetings, please bring your own reuseable coffee mug or water/soda tumbler. After using it at the meeting, take it home and wash it, and bring it again next month. No more single-use plastics!
Please Note: Sometimes our meetings take place in a club where re-usable glasses and coffee cups are provided, so for the October meeting you can skip this instruction. November? Bring your mugs and tumblers!!!!!
