President's Letter February 2018

Sarah Dimling

Dear Friends,

91C75174-DCDA-4F79-A41C-AC913F6B38D8.JPG

We’ve gone from zero to sixty in record time and I’m referring to our Cleveland weather, not our Ferraris. The long winter days are a good time to think about what you would like to enter in our upcoming Flower Show in May, The Flowers that Bloom in the Spring, Tra La! Robin Schachat and her committee have been hard at work planning a fabulous show.  We are striving for 100% participation and encourage you to submit your registration forms as soon as possible. The schedule can be found on our website.

If you have not yet sent in your 2017-2018 Charitable Projects contribution, send your check as soon as possible to Kate Stenson, 13705 Shaker Blvd, Apt. 8B, Cleveland, OH 44120. Please do not use Kate’s address listed in the directory, as it is her former address. If you are unsure which fiscal year your most recent gift was for, email or call Kate. The Charitable Projects Committee will meet in early March to review all grant proposals prior to bringing them to the membership for a vote. It’s imperative that the committee members know how much money is available for this year’s Charitable Project grants.

For those of you who have committed to writing a new member proposal or seconding letter, please submit your (detailed) letters to Leslie Marting no later than April 1, 2018. Just a friendly reminder, as there is no March newsletter.

Thanks to Betsy Stueber, we have enjoyed educational, varied and interesting programs this year, with more to come. If you have any recommendations for speakers or meeting locations for 2018-2019, please let Annamarie Brancovsky know as as soon as possible.

Let’s hope Punxsutawney Phil doesn’t see his shadow. I wish all of you a wonderful February.

Sarah
