SLGC
They came to Cleveland from far and wide to attend this year's GCA Conservation Study trip, ably organized and led by SLGC's own Jane Ellison. This is what's being said about the intensive study of Lake Erie, its beauty and its challenges.
"I will always think of the Great Lakes with new eyes and intelligent understanding from here on out.
The garden club ladies baked their hearts out on our behalf; they hosted us in glorious settings and provided signature mid-western hospitality and kindness.
Your friends in important jobs with a knack for conveying the spirit of their work came through in spades -- Chris Ronayne, David Orr, Farmer Lee Jones, Chris Window, Jill Bartolotta, Rich Cochren and Andree Heim are my new heroes." Missy Janes
"Washington crossed the Delaware, but he never organized a Conservation Study Trip, nor did he see the Maumee River. I’m sure if he could have had a say in the matter, he would have chosen Jane Ellison to lead the team.
From beginning to end, the CST was absolutely terrific – informative, inspiring, exciting, fun. The speakers offered a helpful array of perspectives that brought depth and nuance to the issues.
Thank you, thank you for your energy, intellect, creativity and good cheer. It was a most memorable and wonderful trip, and all of us are in your debt." Dede Petri, GCA President
