President's Letter September 2017
Sarah Dimling
Dear Friends,
I hope you are enjoying the last weeks of summer and your gardens are cooperating nicely! It’s been a lovely “Goldilocks” summer, not too hot and not too cold. I’m not nearly ready to gear up for cooler temperatures and I think most of us will agree it’s far more satisfying to dig in our gardens than to shovel snow.
That said, I am very much looking forward to embarking this fall on SLGC calendar year 2017 - 2018. You should have received your new directory by now. Please take a few minutes to review and let Nancy Zambie and Dozie Herbruck know if you have any updates or corrections. Please note the Board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, December 12th has been moved to Thursday, December 14th due to a conflict with the Greens Workshop.
Betsy Stueber has assembled a fabulous and diversified membership program line-up, Gale Clarry and Sally Roman are planning terrific Visiting Gardens trips, Robin Schachat has the spring Flower Show plans well under way and Martha Marsh is planning a begonia propagation workshop. This is just a hint of our fun and educational year ahead!
As always, please let me know if you have suggestions, comments or a particular interest in any of the myriad activities SLGC has to offer. Enjoy the rest of your summer and I look forward to seeing you in September.
Fondly,
Sarah
